Beware – Some Logos Are Pretty Naff

Should a business owner take their logo seriously or just plonk something together that kinda looks ok?

A bit of clip art…
some random curly fonts….
drop shadows and…
hey presto.. a naff logo!

Many business owners fail to realise that their potential customers are judging their whole product or service offerings based on how the business presents itself.

A logo always leads the way in any marketing and this is what the market sees.

Good logo = Good impression
Bad logo = Bad impression

If you would like to join the ranks of the ill-informed and have a naff logo that hinders your business, and ensures a very low opinion of your company, then you use any or all of the following tips…

  1. Use clip art in your design.
  2. Select a font that is fancy and frilly so no one can read it.
  3. Use lots of different fonts to make your logo looks busy and confusing.
  4. Incorporate lots of special font effects so everyone will know what a creative genius you are.
  5. Use colours that clash and hurt peoples’ eyes so no one will forget seeing your logo.
  6. Fill your logo with as much colour as possible because white space is boring and dull.
  7. Fill your logo with lots of words so it is as informative as possible.
  8. Don’t worry about how your logo will look in print. Just use lots of special effects because it will look amazing online.
  9. Create one logo for the web, another one for your letterhead and a third for your brochures, or just have a few differently themed logos to use on different days…
  10. Get the brother of your friend’s cousin to design your logo because he was voted ‘Best Artist’ in the fifth grade.
  11. Have your admin girl design your logo, she’s a bit of a whizz with Word or Publisher

Use these tips, either in combination or alone to ensure that you look totally unprofessional in the marketplace
