Why You Should Ditch the Jargon

BELIEVE ME. AIN’T NO ONE…

Is ever going to complain that your writing is TOO EASY to understand.

Whenever you write anything to help promote your business…

A web page, a Facebook post, an advert, a brochure, a blog piece… etc.

Keep it nice and simple.

Ditch the big words where you can,
and the technical terms,
and quit the jargon.

Shorten long sentences.

And write in an easy, ‘every day’ conversational style.

I know! It may seem odd to you at first, but hey – try it.

It’s so much easier to engage with someone if they can understand what you’re trying to say.

To give you an example…

I was doing a consult recently, and the CEO insisted I look at their brochure and website.

I saw the opening paragraph of each… SHEEETT!

I nearly choked on my Werthers Original I tell ya….

Look at this…

“We recently successfully obtained additional quality assurance and safety and environmental certifications, thus strengthening our skill set and fostering continual growth and development”.

Whaaaat…..!!!!!?

It’s just wrong – on every level..

I wanted to crawl away into a safe corner…

As for ‘THUS’… THUS?

Who the bleep (strong expletive) says ‘thus’?

I’m going now… where’s the gin!

Ready to take your business to the next level?

Got a few questions you need help with, or need some assistance from a trusted partner?

If you feel ‘stuck’ and not sure of your next move to get your business ‘busier’, or whether to advertise or send out promos, do some SEO…

It’s all quite confusing!

Perhaps you’ve got a stack of quotes in and need help deciphering them (you have so many different prices for the same thing – why?).

Don’t make the wrong marketing choice as it could cost you a heap of pain…
