9 Words You Must Keep Out of Your Adverts… but Only, if You Want to Get a Response

Some words and phrases are just weak willed wimps with the pulling power of a bedraggled mouse and are not the best words to be used in your ads.

Not when you are trying to sell a product or service.

What are these words and phrases?

  • Can
  • Could
  • Should
  • Might
  • May
  • Ought to
  • Seeks to
  • Has the potential to
  • In my opinion

…and all other like-minded limp promises should be banned from your ads.

Tell your prospect what your product will do.

How you would respond to these statements?

  1. ‘These investments are guaranteed to soar when interest rates rise’
  2. ‘These investments could possibly have the potential to soar when interest rates rise – maybe’
  3. ‘These investments have the power to soar when interest rates rise’

Which sentence is stronger and would get your response?

  1. Yes
  2. Possibly
  3. Maybe

When you advertise, do you want prospects to respond?

  1. Yes
  2. Possibly
  3. Maybe

Easy when you think about it, eh?
